This is my 24th year in education. I started as a 3rd gr. teacher. Then I taught in 3rd/4th mixed-age, non-graded classroom. A position opened up for a technology specialist, so I left the classroom for a year and a half. I switched districts and went back into the classroom as a 4th grade teacher. Although, I have switched back and forth between Math/Science and LA/SS over the years, I have remained in 4th grade. Every year I think about switching grade levels, but I think I'll be in "Fourth Grade Forever" until next year. I am moving to 2nd grade.
My style is difficult to pinpoint. I like Kagan's Cooperative Learning and Jensen's Whole Brain teaching. I'm a little old school, too. I still use a textbook from time to time.
