Throughout my teaching experience, I have acquired a strong set of skills that have enriched my teaching practice as well as a proactive and problem solving personality. Working in the classroom, I have developed great observational and perception skills, and also honed my abilities to exercise good judgment. During my previous work experiences, my IB education, and my practicum, I have acquired strong communication skills, both written and oral and, most importantly, with respects to education. This fall, at my present school, I was promoted to be the Lead English Teacher where I over see other English teachers to ensure they are following the BC curriculum. I will also be writing and executing the BC entrance examination at our school. In this position, I will not only be looking at there entrance exam but also their Oxford scores to ensure they can flourish in the BC program. This year, I’ve also been given the opportunity to lead and develop the BC Arts program. Apart from leading the program I will be teaching dance within the BC program.
I once read that children are our world’s greatest natural resource; this thought has directed my life efforts ever since. The education and welfare of our children is of critical importance. It’s a reflection of our communities, our humanity, and our society’s capacity to flourish. I am inspired by the potential of what being a teacher represents. I enjoy developing relationships with my students first and foremost, I believe this connection is what inspires my students to learn. I also use a variety of hands on techniques within my classroom and enjoy using art and creativity to enhance my lessons. I encourage my students to think for themselves and therefore use a variety of inquiry, critical thinking and blooms taxonomy within my classroom.

I have always wanted to be a teacher. Some of my earliest memories were of me lining up my dolls for class in my Grandma's basement. I went on to be influenced by some amazing teachers that inspired me to become a teacher. On my way to becoming a teacher I traveled through South East Asia and Central America. I also lived in Montreal for four years. I completed my degree in English Literature and went on to pursue my post baccalaureate degree in Education. Since then I've taught in British Columbia, China, Colombia and now here in Vietnam.
