TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi there! My name is Megan and I created Witty Mango as a way to share some of the amazing curriculum and classroom worksheets I have created as a classroom teacher. I have taught both social studies and English as a high school teacher working for Chicago Public Schools. I am currently a freshman special education teacher in CPS teaching both instructional and co-taught language and literature courses.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style incorporates a lot of group work and individual practice. As a special education teacher I do a lot of intentional grouping and differentiation. My favorite lessons are ones where students are talking to each other and engaged in the material. I work at an International Baccalaureate school, my units always include an international aspect and engage students in inquiry questions that help to focus on ideas and skills.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My educational history is varied and I spent time working in the business world before entering education. I have a BA in American Political Studies from Northern Arizona University and a MA in Management from Azusa Pacific University. Most recently I earned my Masters of Art in Teaching and Special Education teaching credential from National Louis University in Chicago, IL.
