For more than 10 years, I've been a high school French teacher, a third grade self-contained teacher, and an elementary/middle French teacher. My love of teaching extends to adults as well, through professional development sessions ranging from pedagogy to technology to language acquisition research in the classroom. I'm also the nerdy teacher of the highly-requested "Mommy School" each summer for our two sons, where I build STEAM activities around their interests just for fun.

I've moved away from the grammar approach to teaching languages and now try to use PACE implicit grammar modeled around comprehensible input and ACTFL standards, so my materials are changing to reflect that shift. Please see the research of Stephen Krashen or Bill Van Patten for more information (or the Tea with BVP podcast).
At my school, my teenage students call me "mom" because I build relationships with them and care about each of them on a personal level, but I still hold them to high expectations. I hope that these qualities shine through in my work here on TPT.
While I no longer teach the younger grades on a daily basis, I do have two young sons at home and keep up with current research/trends/standards so that I can develop quality products. I hope one day to get back to teaching in an elementary school.

I'm working towards becoming an Instructional Coach, but I still have a lot of zest for the classroom so I'm not quite ready to move yet.
While I am an advanced-level French speaker, I do make mistakes so please message me if you see any errors. If you need something for class translated to other languages, I also speak some Spanish at the intermediate low level, and German and Russian at the novice level.
