Welcome! We are a married couple excited to work as a team to share the resources we've created from our combined teaching experience. Mark is a high school teacher in the subjects of social studies and English language arts. Over the years he has taught world history, United States history, economics, and government. For English language arts, he primarily teaches 11th grade English and has also taught after-school literacy intervention programs. In previous years he taught middle school as well. Elyse started out as an elementary school teacher's aid, then became a middle school math and science teacher. During that time she discovered she loved to dabble in graphic design projects for her classroom. She has also worked as a tutor and guitar instructor. She now does computer aided drafting and graphic design, in addition to creating teaching resources.
In all subjects, we believe strongly in challenging students while also keeping them actively engaged. In our lessons we make it our aim to immerse students in the rich content in ways that help them grow in their reading, writing, speaking, and listening. This is why hands-on activities and collaboration with peers have an important place in our teaching materials. We're always looking for ways to connect the material to their own relevant experience.
Recruited to the PD Team to support other teachers
We both have our bachelor's degrees in History. Mark went on to receive a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and Elyse earned a certificate in Architectural Technology.
We enjoy traveling, hiking, and reading. We also enjoy working artistically with design, so we try our best to make our materials clean and attractive in their arrangement. We welcome any feedback or questions. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
