I have taught for over a dozen years. I have been a special education teacher in a high school setting, serving as a resource reference for various high school disciplines. I have taught a self-contained classroom for students with Autism for over 5 years. I have been a general education teacher in a 6th grade classroom and I have been a resource teacher for students in grades 1-6.
I have taught most of my years so far at a Montessori school, so visually pleasing and inviting our always noted first in my teaching. Student led activities and independent learning are paramount in my teaching.
Attended HANDS in AUTISM training, completing over 30 hours. Completing Race and Equity training for two phases as an initiative of school district.
I attended college majoring in Deaf Education and Elementary Education, changing my major to Special Education (mild disabilities) and Elementary Education after a year long practicum at Indiana School for the Deaf. I have a passion for visual learning and visual cues for learning.
