TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught students from 3rd to 5th grade in the classroom setting and have tutored grades K-7. I am a Tier I certified in Guided Language Acquisition and Design (GLAD). Finally, I have had the pleasure of being a member of the math planning committee. I currently teach 5th grade in California.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy being able to use my creative abilities to design lesson plans! I am always striving to improve as a teacher. My teaching style is very hands-on and visual. My focus is on Common Core and Project-Based Learning. I teach my students concepts opposed to procedures, especially in math to promote critical thinking skills. My students learn to collaborate with one another and execute a product that involves problem-solving and innovation. Since I work in a high ELL population, I create my lessons so that it accommodates their learning needs. I am also very passionate about incorporating technology as an extension!

Throughout high school and middle school, I have always been recognized for my Reading and Writing skills.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, Fullerton. I proceeded to earn my Multiple Subject teaching credential and Master of Arts in Teaching from University of California, Irvine where I was trained extensively on Common Core methodologies.
