I currently teach 3rd grade at a Fine Arts Academy. I was initially hired to teach Kindergarten. I remained with the little ones for two years. Though I enjoyed every minute of it and learned a great deal, my heart was always set on teaching 3rd. I had a chance to move up to a 2/3 split and jumped at the opportunity. I continued with a 2/3 split for two years. Our school then did some restructuring and I ended up with a straight 3rd grade, which is where I always wanted to be. I am happily embarking on my 3rd year in a straight 3 classroom. This will be my 7th year teaching! I also direct a Junior Show Choir group. The students are in grades 3rd-7th and typically perform in two shows per year. We have worked on everything from 50's and 60's music to most recently Motown. This is a great creative outlet for both myself and the students. My co-directors and I have an amazing time putting these shows together.

I created a Walk-for-Wishes team at my school to help raise money for the Make-a-Wish foundation. Our school has been the top fundraising school in south east Michigan for the past two years. This year, we had 136 team members attend the walk and raised $6,978 to help grant wishes!!! I am still so proud of our team!
I received my Bachelor's degree from The University of Michigan Dearborn. My Master's degree was attained from Marygrove College.
