I started my teaching journey in early childhood, teaching Pre-Kindergarten for many years from Head Start to private centers to the school district. It was astounding to me how MUCH these little ones could learn in such a short amount of time; I saw them transform and learn each day right in front of me. As I wanted to start a family I switched to teaching 2nd grade for a few years and traded my physical Pre-k exhaustion to mental 2nd Grade exhaustion. It blew my mind the extreme range 2nd graders had in ability-level, ranging from I know this is letter A to I can read a 300-page novel. Through my experiences my ultimate goal is to provide materials for teachers to set a solid base for their students in early childhood (which I consider PK-3 to 2nd Grade). My second goal is to provide materials that can cover a HUGE span of ability-level to actually allow teachers to teach each student in her class without total exhaustion. Lastly, my third goal is to provide resources at a decent price to relieve teachers from the consistent working it takes to provide for their entire classroom. My hope is to give teachers fun resources that work with their students to allow them to have a good work-life balance. As a new mama myself, I know how crucial this is. I also know the educational world is changing, and that parents are their child's first teachers. So many of my resources I hope will be useful to parents at home or in home-school as well.
My teaching goal is to make activities fun for both teachers and students while also covering a variety of ability-levels. I worked primarily at an International Baccalaureate World School so incorporating IB methods and process-based activities naturally find themselves in my work.
