TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught elementary school for over a decade with the majority of my experience teaching 3rd grade in an urban setting with bilingual students. I have also taught 2nd and 4th grade and have subbed in K-5 classrooms. In addition to this I worked as a teacher assistant in preschools and ran an after school program during college. One thing I am proud of is that I also speak Spanish (studied in Costa Rica) so I am better able to communicate with some of the parents of my students. I love to mentor new teachers! I also have been a workshop presenter on topics including Reading Strategies, Math Interventions, Whole Brain Teaching, Classroom Management, and Technology in the Classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Silly and Motivating! Giving up is not an option in my classroom, mistakes are okay to make because we learn from them. I try to keep my kiddos moving and talking as much as possible so they can be that much more engaged in the classroom.
