I have been teaching 3rd grade for a few years. I have experience with grades 1-7, ELLs, and mild to severe special needs. I am my district's grade 3 Instructional Facilitator.
Learning is a social activity, as are most college and career readiness skills. I believe that teaching children social skills and helping them interact with each other is a top priority. Once that is in place, the content comes much more easily.
Not to brag, but the past 2 annual OMP Dr. Seuss poetry contest grade 3 winners have been my little beans. :)
I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English Literature and Writing. I am currently working on a master's degree in Elementary Literacy and Mathematics. I hold a Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary (1-6) with an endorsement in Sheltered English Immersion (SEI).
