My teaching career began way back in 1989! I have taught all grades, preschool- grade 12, (except for grades 9-10) in some capacity. Straight out of college, I started teaching honors British and World Literature to high school juniors and seniors. I developed elective course curricula for Shakespeare and Women In Literature courses. Next, I moved on to middle school, teaching grade 8 English Language Arts for 7 years. I was the English department chair for 6 years. A highlight of my tenure was working as a literacy resource teacher for grades 6-8 where I wrote, coordinated, and led professional development for teachers on a weekly basis for four years. I ended my career in 2012 as a literacy coach for Pre-K to grade 5 in an elementary school. I am now a homeschool mom!
Personable, differentiated, active, balanced, and integrated. I believe that no matter the age, students want to have FUN learning in a safe and loving environment.
