TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 14 years. I have taught grades 8-12 as an ELA and special education teacher. I have also been teaching AP Language and Composition for 8 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in English, a minor in History, and a master's degree in Reading.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in exercising patience, especially with my high school classes of mixed abilities. I have students who have IEPs, 504 plans, and a multitude of issues going on at home. Most of my students come from the inner city, so my teaching style is structured, which is what they need, but also fostering a relaxed environment, which most of them do not have at home. I try to make it as easy as possible for all of my students to be successful.
