Elementary school teacher with over 26 years experience. Licensed to teach in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. Ruth has also worked in higher education. At North Point International Institute, Ruth was responsible for the design and administration of online courses for health professionals. With her educational technologist background and education, Ruth designed the courses and their deployment on the Moodle Learning Management System.
Ruth's teaching methods utilize instructional strategies that appropriately address the different learning styles and needs of students. She instills a passion for learning within an educational environment that is both encouraging and positive. She provides all of her students with the skills and tools necessary for success and fosters the individual talents of each student thereby giving them confidence to embrace their dreams and make them reality.
Ruth's passion for education integration with technology has led her to successfully delve into grant writing. In 2007, Ruth conceived, wrote, and successfully obtained a grant in the amount of $64,000 to develop a computer lab for kindergarten through third grades students as well as special education students. In 2009, as a Project Director for Advancement & Development Associates, Inc., in Lakeland, Florida, Ruth was responsible for writing a $2 million U.S. Department of Education Title V grant for the College of Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. This successful grant was designed to incorporate the use of educational technologies across all science, technology, engineering, and mathematics academic programs.
Obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1988 at the Universidad del Turabo, a comprehensive university accredited by Middle States Association, and is currently completing her thesis for her Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology at Caribbean University.
