Since graduating in December 2015, I have taught a multitude of grades ranging from 4K to 8th grade as a Guest Teacher in many different districts. I have enjoyed long term assignments in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I currently work as a Permanent Building Guest Teacher at a middle school as I continue the search for a classroom to call my own. As a Guest Teacher, I have learned and gained skills in classroom management, quick lesson planning, and time management. I have also seen ideas and materials other teachers have used in their classroom that I would love to create and share. I want to develop classroom resources and tools to help teachers and guest teachers create a classroom environment where their students are able to thrive and grow as learners.
My goal as an educator is to spark curiosity in the minds of students. I want to encourage the children to explore all opportunities and experiences that are thrown their way. In my mind, that means teaching through a variety of methods to get students familiar with them including: * Lecture with Structured and Interactive Notes * Hands on Learning * Integration with technology and curriculum * Individual Work, Group Work, and Whole Class Work * Exploration and Research I am always looking for new ideas and strategies to include in my repertoire.
