I have been teaching on and off since 2013. I am currently in my 4th year teaching; my first year at a charter school after 3 years of teaching in an ESE self-contained classroom at a high poverty school.
I believe in creating a family like atmosphere in my classroom. My students often have difficult, uncertain home life so welcoming them into a loving environment on a daily basis is important to me. As a special education teacher I had to give instruction not only at grade level but also where every student was for their instructional level. Finding resources for teaching, assessing, and learning have been difficult at times leading me to create what I was looking for starting me on my TPT journey. I hope that you can benefit from the resources that I have found helpful over the years. If you have any questions or request please let me know!
Teacher of the week twice in the 2015-2016 school year. Golden Apple Award winner.
I have a degree from Florida State University in Elementary Education (2012) with ESOL, Reading, and ESE endorsements.
I live in Panama City Beach, Florida. I have been teaching in my own classroom since 2015. I left special education at a high poverty school and moved to 1st grade regular education classroom in one of the top charter schools in the area. I love reading and planning on the weekends and often find myself creating resources for my students and I to use to improve their understanding of concepts. I also find myself creating materials to make life as a teacher easier.
