TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am about to begin my 4th year teaching! My first two years were spent teaching all subject areas in 5th grade. Last year I looped with my students up to 6th grade and am returning to 5th for the 2017-18 school year.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in constructivist learning theories. Although there are times for direct teaching, I love witnessing students discover learning through doing. Currently my district is leaning towards PBL. I am super excited to dive into my trainings and learn more so I can apply it to my classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended school in the same school district from kindergarten to 12th grade. I actually graduated with the same kids I went to kindergarten with. After high school I attended a community college and later transferred to Emporia State University where I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am now beginning to start Graduate School. I am working towards receiving my Masters in K-12 Leadership. Later, I hope to lead teachers by becoming a principal.
