Teaching Under the Sun

I have been teaching since 1996. I have taught ESE Pre-K, Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, & Second grades. I currently teach First Grade. I am a Google Level 1 Certified Educator. I am constantly reading about teaching and adding new ideas and practices to my teaching. I am the technology leader at my school. I help teachers with ActivInspire and other technology issues. I am a 1:1 classroom with laptops or desktops for all my students. I am constantly amazed at what primary students can do with technology.

I use a combination of methods. I find whole group in necessary for some skills. I use small group instruction for reading and math. I differentiate most of my day. I integrate technology into many of my lessons each day.

I have an Early Childhood Education degree from Georgia State University. I have attend the FETC technology conference many times. I present at EdCamps.

I love using technology in the classroom. Being an Early Childhood teacher, I believe in learning by doing, and providing students with the opportunity to work with what they are learning.
