I have a wide range of teaching experience. Through my student teaching and teaching positions, I have worked in grades K-5th. My husband teaches 6th-8th grade, so between the two of us we have material K-8. However, after spending over 8 years in the teaching profession, I now have the privilege of being home with my two wonderful kiddos and only teach part time. I get to also be in the teaching rotation for my son’s preschool. So, many of my products are geared to where my children and at – kindergarten and preschool levels. However, between my husband and I, we offer a range of products. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my store.
I genuinely desire for all students to be engaged in the learning process. I believe that all students bring gifts, knowledge, and experiences to the classroom. I believe that each and every student should be valued and given the opportunity to share their knowledge with their classmates. I love when students have the opportunity to discover something on their own. Seeing that something “click” is such a rewarding experience for both the teacher and the student. Therefore, I love to include as many hands-on learning experiences as possible. I also feel it is vitally important for students to understand that what they learn in the classroom can be applied to everyday situations. As a result, I try to incorporate as many “real life application” projects and activities as I possibly can. I also feel that students feel empowered when they are allowed to “teach.” It is so amazing to see how students explain concepts and ideas to each other in a way totally different than myself, but in a way that makes complete sense to each other. Therefore, I also try to give students opportunities to explain their thinking and understanding. My husband and I also participated in a three year math grant that revolutionized our teaching of math. It was amazing!!! Therefore, many of our lessons incorporate these ideas – seeking to develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
