I have been teaching Special Education/Inclusion for 5 years in a Title One School with the majority of students being English Language Learners.
I love reflecting to see how much my teaching style has evolved! After having my first child, I was determined to get all 70 pounds off that I gained (oops!). In so doing, fitness became a huge part of my life. Because of this, I wanted to bring fitness into my classroom as well. I began doing research on the effects of using exercise balls as seating in the classroom. The studies had so many positive results that I just had to try! I've been using exercise balls as seating for 3 years now and I love it! Giving children an outlet for their energy has changed the way I teach! As I see them wiggling on their balls I am reminded that they are CHILDREN who need love, understanding, and time to wiggle! :)
Yet to be added
PLEASE follow me if you are a teacher that uses balls in the classroom or are interested! I would LOVE to hear from more teachers who do this as I do not know any personally. teachingwithballs.blogspot.com
