I am a second year teacher in the Triad area of North Carolina, far, far away from my native Southern California. In a former life, I was a proofreader, editor and ghostwriter. Nice work, if it weren’t so mind-numbingly soulless. Ha ha! But hey...I was really good at it!!
Loud and with lots of music. Somehow, I have ended up with two sets of students (two different schools, 30 miles apart) who want to create interpretive dances for...everything. :-) I read aloud DAILY, I am a Huge advocate of reading and therefore have a HUGE Classroom Library. I believe in Whole Brain Teaching and am trying hard to create the highly structured atmosphere derived from the CHAMPS system. Harry Wong is my hero.
None yet...but I'm aiming for Teacher of the Year!!
M.Ed in Cross-Cultural Teaching; BA in English with a Special Interest in Critical Thinking, Creative Writing (Poetry) and American Literature. (Yes, Virginia. I wrote my own major.)
I am the mama to an amazing five-year old girl and the wife of a very understanding husband. I teach Fourth Grade.
