TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught ESL (K-5) for 3 years, kindergarten for 3 years, Title I reading (K-5) for 2 years, 1st grade for 1 year, and 2nd grade for 2 years. I've also substitute taught, nannied, tutored, babysat, worked as a summer camp counselor for children with autism, and everything in between! As long as I can remember, I've worked with children and loved it.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Organized, creative, flexible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've earned 8 grants from DonorsChoose and 4 grants from my school district education association. All used to buy wonderful new books, technology, and supplies for my students!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an M.Ed with elementary endorsements, as well as Reading and ESOL endorsements.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a teacher from lovely (and rainy) Portland, Oregon. I enjoy discovering new recipes and home decorating/organizing ideas on Pinterest, spending time with my wonderful husband and baby boy, going to the gym (especially to Zumba!), and spoiling my yorkie Chloe. I am constantly creating engaging workbooks and activities for my students and co-workers, so I thought I might as well share them with the world! Creating learning activities is a hobby and passion of mine, it is never a job! You can find my blog Teaching's a Hoot right here: https://teachingsahoot1.blogspot.com/
