I taught for twelve and a half years in a variety of grade levels. Most of my career has taken place in the United States, but had the wonderful opportunity to teach in Wuerzburg, Germany for two years. With my dual certification, I've taught half of my career in Special Education and other in Regular Education focusing on Inclusion.
My teaching style varies from each lesson to the needs of the my students. I use power points, strong models, visuals, personal connections, color coding, acronyms, and much more when I teach.
In past years, I've been awarded two grants, recognized in Who's Who, and participated on Leadership Teams.
While working towards my undergraduate degree, I attended Southeastern Louisiana University. Later to attend the same university for graduate studies, but only completed nine hours in Supervision and Administration due to personal life changes.
Teaching is my passion and calling. I love to teach and help students become better citizens as well as learners. I have a supporting husband who's extremely encouraging and supports my heavy spending on treats and other goodies for my students. My two children are my guinea pigs at times especially my oldest since she was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia six years ago. I've tried just about everything at home to help her. Because of her, she has made me a better person and teacher. My goal is to ensure that whoever I teach leaves with something where it may be related to education or some life skill.
