TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Although I have worked in many different types of instructional roles in schools, I am currently working as a social studies teacher in an alternative high school in Virginia. I am particularly interested in ways to differentiate lessons to reach many different types of learners and ability levels in a classroom. Although I currently teach Government, World History and Current Affairs, I have had experience in math, science and English classes as well. My experiences in schools in Northern Virginia has particularly prepared me to create instructional solutions to help scaffold learning for students receiving special education and ELL services.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy making lesson plans interactive and engaging, with many different types of learning activities in each unit. My lessons are organized into larger units of study, and can be used individually or with other assignments from the unit.
