I have 4 years experience teaching in 1st and 2nd grade. I was teacher of the year my 3rd year and I have spoken at several conferences. I was a main feature in a documentary because of my innovative use of technology. I am an Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2015. I believe technology can have a profound impact on education, especially in low income communities. I work in a high poverty school and I raised the money to purchase the class set of iPads that I now use.
I believe in the power of student driven learning. I believe that we can let them take control of their learning as we guide them and direct them. I try to find the best ways to put learning into the hand of my students so that they are in control of their learning and they own it.
I was selected as the teacher of the year in my 3rd year of education. I have spoken and several conferences and have been featured in a documentary on technology and young children. I am also a part of the 2015 Apple Distinguished Educators class.
I have a Bachelors degree in Christian Studies and a Minor in Psychology. I'm also pursuing my Masters in Instructional Technology.
I'm just a simple guy who wants to use technology to transform education. I have a specific passion for students in low income areas because they often don't have the best tools for education and everyone deserves the best education.
