I have taught for 26 years and was fortunate to head up a 1:1 initiative for our district allowing my 3rd graders to explore and learn from the use of technology daily in the classroom with a blended approach using devices to expand and enrich the regular activities in my classroom as well as experience global learning using Skype lessons connecting classrooms around the world.
I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process and when students experience at as many levels as possible the concepts being explored. I believe in student driven instruction and the use of technology in the classroom to enrich and expand the learning process. I believe that the goal of teaching is to inspire and to have students fall in love with the learning process and ultimately become lifetime learners that never settle for less than their best.
