I started teaching in 1990. All of my experience has been in B.C. secondary schools.
I like thematic units, and an inquiry approach. I believe all students can succeed if we set them up to succeed. I am passionate about literature and about bringing it alive for my students.
I won the 2013 Vancouver International Writer's Festival Poetry Contest.
I have an honours degree in English Literature from Queen's University and a Master of Arts in Education Philosophy and Curriculum from Simon Fraser University.
I am a poet and my second book, Ghost Town, will be published by Oolichan Press in spring 2016.
