I have taught a variety of subjects in middle school including: Technology Education, Video Production, American History, English, and Academic Intervention. I have also served as Student Council sponsor.
I believe that relationships are the foundation of any classroom. Routines and clear expectations are also vital. Your physical classroom should be a representation of this.
I have been a state finalist in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow grant competition.
I graduated from the University of Michigan - Dearborn. First with a Bachelor's degree in Education and certifications to teach Language Arts and Social Studies. Recently, I also received my Master's Degree in Educational Technology. I am currently working on a Master's Degree so that I can also teach Science. History is my favorite subject, but I love everything about Social Studies! It is great to learn about people around the world and the ways that we are both alike and different.
My husband Bryan and I have 3 daughters. Our oldest is a senior at Oakland University studying Music Theatre. Our other two daughters are both in high school. My family and I enjoy spending time together whether we are on vacation, camping, at a ballgame, or having family game night. We have also discovered geocaching and love to explore for hidden caches!
