Ever since I remember myself I did not consider any other choice of profession than that of teaching. While all the kids my age wanted to play tag and hide-and-seek outdoors, I voluntarily confined myself to a fake classroom that I established in my bedroom, hung a mini chalk board on my dresser and made sure that all of my stuffed animals were well-equipped for their first day of school! Not counting my childhood games, I've been in education for over 10 years: as a tutor, library aide, volleyball coach, history teacher at a low-income Milwaukee school, examiner at Pearson and International Baccalaureate, museum volunteer; and now I am trying on the hat of a curriculum designer. It fits!
I believe history doesn't only live between textbook covers or within classroom walls. I believe everyone has a (his/her)story to tell. And I also believe that the questions my students ask are often more important than the answers. Stay curious!
BA in History (cum laude) BA in Political Science and International Relations (cum laude)
I have lived and been educated in two different countries: Belarus and the United States (this experience certainly makes it interesting to teach the Cold War). I draw inspiration for my designs from many dedicated teachers I meet at various teacher seminars I attend throughout the year. I have completed an introductory course on graphic design through my local library to make my thoughts appear more attractive on paper.
