I am currently in my 14th year of teaching. I taught 2 years of 1st grade, 2 years of 5th grade, and have been teaching 3rd grade for the last 10 years.
It's all about the relationships! I build relationships with every child in order to understand what will work best for each and every child. I like to incorporate lots of humor in my classroom. I am firm, but funny and loving.
In 2011, I was named the Elementary Teacher of the Year for my district. I am also a member of the KEEN-Kansas Exemplary Educators Network.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kansas State University in 2004. I earned my Master's of Education degree from Baker University in 2012.
My husband Tyler and I have four beautiful children-Brody (11), Harper (9), and Eli (4), and Nathan (2). In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and exercising. Faith, family, and friends are very important to me. I can not think of a time when I didn't know I was going to be a teacher. From "teaching" the stuffed animals in my bedroom as a little girl, to "grading" worksheets I had made, teaching has always been my passion. I love my job and feel incredibly blessed to have a job that I truly, truly, truly enjoy.
