TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught grades 1-8, then 5-8 in private schools, and now teach grades 3-5 in an amazing public school in my hometown. I also write Bible Studies for the junior high, high school, and adult levels at my local church.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to combine the philosophies of music education to find what fits my students. I enjoy using Kodaly, Orff, and a classic approach. I have 20 years of private lesson teaching as well in both piano and voice. In addition, I've led and mentored teenagers for the last twenty years in a discipleship/mentor role. Leading small groups - and teaching others to do the same - has given me a unique perspective.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am the mother of one biological miracle child, and one adopted miracle child. I'm married to the most amazing husband (sorry gals), and love experiencing life by his side. I love gardening, reading, and scrapbooking in my free time (hmmm...not much of that right now.) I spent 12 years away from education in a leadership/business role. (Learned tons about people in that time!) I'm a life-long learner who's always exploring how to stretch myself and grow in leadership, in my faith, in my role as a parent, and in my role as an educator.
