TEACHING EXPERIENCE

K-7 classroom and library. I'm also an author. (I have 8 books in the Scholastic series "Literacy Place for the Early Years," including the big book, "Pirate Lee.") I also write screenplays and have ventured into filmmaking as a writer/director.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Great learning activities allow kids to sink their teeth in, provide stress free practice, and opportunities to create both on their own, and with their classmates.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have been teaching for about 25 years in grades K - 7 and as a teacher-librarian. I've enjoyed giving workshops on writing to colleagues in my school district. I've taken a number of writing classes over the past few years including writing for children and screenwriting classes. I've also taken courses/workshops in filmmaking-camera techniques, film production, stop motion animation, etc.
