I have been teaching for 12+ years, my career started in 1999 in Baltimore City Md. Since 2007 I have been a 7th grade Social Studies teacher at a Charter School in Atlanta Ga. While the majority of my classroom experiences have been with middle school students, my community service and service learning projects have involved both elementary and high school students.
I weave in and out all of the teaching styles but I lean more towards facilitator and delegator. I work really hard at helping my students understand that they are truly in the driver seat of their own education. My job is to help my students help themselves. I am very respectful of my students and treat them in ways I would like my own children to be treated. I encourage students to form their own opinions and to be independent thinkers.
