TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In 2007 I left a communications position to peruse teaching and I've never looked back! I have spent all of my time in a middle school environment throughout the school year and some summers with high school foreign exchange students. I have always loved literature and analyzing the multiple meanings, wording, and so on. Everyday I try to instill that love in the classroom with engaging and creative activities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In my classroom I mix modeler and facilitator styles. Modeling is key to understanding and growth which is why I use that method with new concepts and more advanced concepts. I also incorporate the facilitator style because I feel it's very important for students to have the opportunity to come to conclusions on their own or with groups. I think that exploration helps build both problem solving and creative skills.
