I've been teaching in the great state of Texas for 9 years. I spent 6 years in first grade. I taught one year of self contained 2nd grade and 1 year of math/science in 2nd grade. I am now currently teaching math/science in 3rd grade.
I truly believe that math should be taught hands on. I try to have hands on lessons every day. Students understand deeper when they actually are able to manipulate objects and move!

I graduated from Lamar University in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education.
After graduating from college, I moved to Houston, TX to began my career as a teacher. My first job was teaching in a Title One school as a first grade teacher. I spent six years in first grade! I learned so much!! As much as I loved those first graders, I was ready for a change. I had the opportunity to move to 2nd grade and be self contained. The following year I stayed in 2nd grade, but was FINALLY able to purse my passion of teaching math and science all day. This past year I looped with my students and am now teaching 3rd grade math and science with quite possibly the best Language Arts teacher/partner/confidant/friend in the great state of Texas. I've been at the same school since I started my teaching career and can't imagine leaving it.
