This is my fourth year in teaching. I have taught students from Kindergarten to Year 6 both mainstream and additional needs students. While most of my time has been spent as a Casual Relief Teacher, I also have had blocks at various schools where I have gained experience as a Teacher Librarian, as a Learning and Support Teacher, as well as a Drama Teacher.
I prefer a creative and hands on approach to teaching. I try to incorporate games and multiple choices as much as possible as I find students become really engaged when there are elements of fun and when they can take ownership of how they are learning.
While I have no formal Honers or Awards as yet, I do have many moments that make me proud to be a teacher. Such as: *** Number 1*** Student: Are you going to be on our class today Miss? Me: Yes I am Student screams: Yes! Yes! Yes! I love it when your on our class! Yes! *** Number 2 *** Principal: I would like you to start up some Drama groups a junior group and a senior group. Me: Great! I will go get started [envisioning having only approx 6-10 students in each group] ... Me asking students: Who would like to join in the Drama groups that I am creating? Students:[Half the school puts their hand up] ME! To this day I still have people wanting to join my Drama Groups.
I have an Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology and a Masters of Teaching in Primary education [K-6]
I have over 20 years experience in drama.
