I began working in education as an educational aide in a behavior unit that serviced grades 3-6. There I learned how to be creative with my time, materials, and instruction. My first year as a teacher, I worked in Special Education in both the Math and Science departments for 7th and 8th grade. Last year I changed districts and specialties, landing in the role as an 8th grade U.S. History Teacher.
I am an Interactive Journal enthusiast and a lover of hands-on exploration. I believe in creating a classroom community based on mutual understanding, passion for learning, and a growth mindset.
I am the lead teacher for the Social Studies department on my campus.
I have a B.A. in Anthropology with a dual minor in Religion Studies and Art History. I am the proud alumnus of an alternative certification program. I've learned and continue to learn through experience and utilizing the resources I'm given.
