I've been the art specialist at Developmental Disabilities Institute in New York for four years working with children with special needs. I had the opportunity to write my own curriculum and prepare for our fantastic graduation ceremonies, they were all such memorable experiences! I recently switched to working in a public school with children in pre-k through the fifth grade, it has been such a blast getting to make unique projects with the kids, they very much enjoy their time in the art classroom.
I believe it's important to stay current and use the kid's interests as a tool to form new lessons and ideas. It's important to take ques from the children, they'll tell you what works and what doesn't. I'll use this information to make my projects better and more exciting for the next time.

I've earned my bachelor's degree and my master's degree in art education from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, New York! I loved every minute of the academic programs SVA provided and it's there that I gathered the inspiration to become the artist and art teacher I am today.
