TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator for almost 20 years, with most of that time spent as a classroom teacher in the primary division. I have a love of all things creative, and strongly feel that a robust Arts program is essential to a child's growth and development. I'm currently teaching my "dream job" of primary/junior vocal music, and love finding opportunities to integrate my two loves - music and visual art - together.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Each day, I try to strike the right balance between giving students the structure they need to be successful, while allowing them the room to explore and interact with the curriculum in a way that is meaningful for them.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Along with my teaching partner, I have produced and directed two musical theatre productions, with a third in the works for Apr. 2018.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and History as well as a Bachelor of Education, Primary/Junior Divisions. Additional qualifications include Reading, Special Ed and Music.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have also written two books in the BOLDPRINT Literacy series, published by Oxford University Press: Wild World of Sports, and That's Gross.
