TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello, to all! I have taught for eight years, in all areas of secondary English: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and ESL, as well. I have also had the honor of being a professional scorer for the state assessment of Texas: my home state. This gave me insight into what to teach, how to teach it, and how to score it. It made me realize that our kids need to be led to unlock their creativity and imagination and apply it to their writing and reading skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to teach the way I would have liked to have been taught! Most of my lessons and activities are technology based and target reading and writing skills, specifically. I will utilize a lot of videos, music, images, quotes, riddles, puzzles, movie trailers, to get their attention and challenge their minds! Critical thinking is one of the most important aspects in learning, and I am an advocate in probing, questioning, challenging them to give me higher forms of language through reading and writing--this will be represented in my store products.
