I teach junior high and play roller derby. There's a lot of skill-set overlap.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught Kindergarten through 12th grade English as a Second Language, and have also taught as a classroom teacher in the third and fourth grades. And then there was that two-year stint as a district-office specialist and ELL coordinator...

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm a very disorganized person by nature (with an ADHD diagnosis in my early 30s), so I depend a LOT on self-sustaining classroom routines. Much of my day is spent front-loading, re-teaching, reviewing, and assessing my language learners' knowledge in the various content areas, so I get to be a Jack (Jane? Jill? Juana?) of all trades.
