6 years teaching middle school Spanish and French 20 years teaching high school Spanish
A French professor I respected very much once told me that a supervisor suggested he leave his personality at the door of his classroom. He responded that the day he did that would be his last day of teaching. Several years later when I was being my animated self in the classroom, I realized I held the same philosophy. I'm all about keeping students interested and I can't be someone I'm not in the classroom. Me? I love to tell jokes, make connections with the students, draw and I especially love Spanish music. Roll it all together and that's how I teach. I try to vary my instruction to reach the kinesthetic learners, visual learners, auditory learners and students who learn best through words. To that end, I incorporate music, drawing and manipulatives to attempt to reach those learners who don't quite latch on through regular audio and visual activities. That's what I'm sharing here on TpT- activities that you can use to reach students who have different learning styles.
