TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a retired teacher of 33 years in the public school system located in New Jersey. I have worked in both regular education classes as well as Special Education. My primary focus was Special Education in the school district I worked for. I taught students with multiple disabilities (MD) and behavioral disabilities (BD) up to 8th grade, yet functioning on the lower elementary level. After school I worked in a nearby local elementary school district teaching math and reading to insure students were academically ready to take and pass the standarized tests at the end of the school year. For three summers I worked for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards grading exams to qualify teachers for national certification. I also worked as a tutor within the Educational Service Unit in Burlington County, New Jersey.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Repetition and reinforcement are keys needed for all students to maintain skills, especially those who may have difficulty in certain academic areas. I believe learning should be fun, exciting and creative. Just a little guidance, along with a fun game, lots of laughter is all that is required for a student to be motivated and successful on his level of ability.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year in my former school district. Recognition for writing a play (The Day the King Smiled) for our annual holiday show which included the entire school, K-12. New Jersey Gospel Workshop Award for creating, directing and producing several gospel plays.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

1. Burlington County Community College: AA- Education Technology 2. The College of New Jersey: BS- Early Childhood/Elementary Education M.Ed. Special Education (RETIRED) 3. School of Prophets Certification through Identity Network Ministries

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have written and directed plays for the church and community as well as traveled with a cast of volunteers to evangelize. Teach, train and mentor in the prophetic ministry. Traveled to Kenya to minister in conferences during the summer. Traveled to Haiti as a Missionary with a team from a local church. Volunteered in a county hospital as Chaplain Assistant.
