TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been high school social studies teacher since 2000 and currently teach in a small city school district that is approximately 90 miles north of New York City. During my career I've taught just about everything that is offered at the high school level in my department. I currently teach AP US History, Psychology, and Social Justice.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Throughout my career I have focused on trying to reach all of my students. This is especially important since I teach in a high needs district and my course load includes inclusion classes. It's not always been easy and I have used a multitude of different methods. The things that I have focused most of my attention on have involved student engagement and instructional technology. Currently, my focus is on increasing my usage of primary source materials and implementing a flipped mastery model of instruction.
