This is my 6th year teaching. I taught 3rd grade SEI my first year teaching, and have been teaching 2nd grade ever since. I have previously taught a 1st grade reading class in an after school program. I currently coach middle school cheerleaders after school, too!
My teaching style is a combination of multiple things. I believe that establishing positive relationships with students is crucial in a classroom environment, so I build relationships with my students and their families. Learning should be fun and student engagement is key for students to make growth. I add kagan structures, student talk, and movement into my day as often as I can to keep the kiddos on their toes.

I graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education in December 2012. I am pursuing my National Board certification for Early and Middle Childhood Literacy: Reading Language Arts. I am near completing my Gifted Education endorsement, and a K-6 Reading Specialist Endorsement.
I love teaching, and am so happy that I have found my home teaching 2nd grade! I am an animal lover, and have 1 cat that is my baby. I believe in the importance of living an active life, so in any free time I may have you'll find me teaching group fitness classes or hiking.
