TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher in Colorado for 18 years. I have taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. Currently, I am a 5th grade teacher, which is where my heart is! I have a Masters in Middle Level Mathematics Teaching. I am a member of the Colorado Core Advocates, an organization that advocates for high quality standards with input from teachers! If you have questions about Common Core, I'm your girl!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is a collaborative place, where everyone has a say in how things are run. My students know that even though I am the adult in the room, they are the ones who are in charge of their learning. We work in groups, support one another and investigate everything we can!

I have been a Colorado girl since age 4 and I am a life long learner. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BA in English Literature (emphasis in elementary education) and then went back to receive my MA in Middle Level Mathematics Teaching. I have also been a participant in a teacher leadership cadre at the University of Northern Colorado!
