Lori has taught on-level 10th, on-level 11th, Pre-AP 9th, Pre-AP 10th, and acceleration. She is currently the instructional specialist on her campus, teaches on-level English 2, and coordinates acceleration programs. Suzanne has experience in 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading (on-level, inclusion and Academically Talented), 9th grade (including a summer crash course that was primarily geared toward students with limited English proficiency), and 10th grade (on-level, Pre-AP, and STAAR acceleration). She currently teachers STAAR acceleration courses and pull-out programs.
We are two curly-headed teachers with some hair-brained ideas. We seek to provide resources for all the secondary English Language Arts and Reading teachers who dare to do things a little differently.
Lori was honored to be named a Texas-Exs Rising Star in 2009. She also served as a Region 10 consultant in 2010. She recently piloted the ELAR Instructional Specialist position for her district. Suzanne was named a First Class Teacher by her district. She was chosen by her principal to attend a leadership academy and serves in various leadership capacities on her campus.
Lori graduated with her Bachelor's from The University of North Texas. She completed a Master's degree in 2010 from The Univeristy of Texas at Arlington. Suzanne graduated from Abilene Christian University. She completed her Master's degree in 2011 from Texas A&M University-Commerce and plans to start a doctoral program there in the fall.
