TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have experience working with toddlers all the way up to high school students in all areas of speech and language. My passion is working with high functioning autism students and teaching pragmatic language. Currently, I work with K-8 students and love creating materials for language development and social-pragmatic language. I also have a background in assessing and working with dual language learners across many different languages.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love finding ways to incorporate all learning styles and modalities. Using activities that are interactive and require physical movement paired with language seem to be most engaging for students. Furthermore, I love teaching vocabulary and oral comprehension through the use of books. They are the best form of therapy! They have visuals and you can model/develop so many skills through reading a great story.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have spoken at the state and national level for my speech pathology associations.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Sacramento State University for both my under graduate and graduate degree in speech pathology and audiology.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a school-based speech pathologist that loves to plan engaging lessons for students. I create resources to help SLPs have creative materials ready to go so that they can feel confident in their speech therapy sessions that they served their students well.
