My first year of teaching I taught kindergarten on the south side of Chicago in a K-2 Primary school with 25 students. My second year found me in Oxford, WI at Oxford Elementary School teaching 3rd grade with 15 students. This year I am teaching a unique classroom with a co-teacher. We are teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades with 40 students between us. I teach Reading and Science and she teaches Math and Social Studies. It has been an experience that's for sure!
I use hands on learning along with multiple intelligence to develop engaging lessons while integrating technology whenever I can. I use positive motivation to encourage students and help them develop positive behavioral choices.
I am highly qualified in general education as well as self-contained education and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
I attended the Auburndale school system from K-12th grade in Auburndale, WI. I attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point for Elementary Education and Coaching. My student teaching was completed at John F. Kennedy Elementary in Junction City, WI and then moved to Chicago for 3 years. I began my career at Loomis Primary Academy as a substitute teacher for the 2011-2012 year and a full time Kindergarten position for the 2012-2013 school year. I am now teaching 3rd grade in Oxford, WI.
I enjoy reading and playing ultimate frisbee with my husband when I am not teaching. I have recently developed a passion for photography and love taking pictures in my free time as well as projects around our new house. Cooking and gardening are quick becoming some favorite hobbies of mine as well.
