I have been a teacher since 1992. Beginning as a preschool, first, third, and fourth grade teacher in a private school setting to running a family home daycare then public school teaching in grades first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth - I have a variety of experiences in the classroom. Additionally, I welcome preservice and inservice teachers into my classroom to gather new ideas from one visit to semester long visits. As a National Board Certified Teacher, I also mentor teachers across the United States to develop an accomplished teaching portfolio. Finally, I contract with the local university providing mentorship and instruction for undergrad and graduate level learning.
I focus to motivate students to learn using a variety of learning techniques. When students are excited about the content, find value, and are challenged "just right", students are eager learners. Using technology as an instructional tool and project based learning, students received personalized instruction and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.
